Philip Armstrong

Philip Armstrong
English Programme
School of Culture, Literature and Society
University of Canterbury, New Zealand

Philip is currently working on two animal studies projects. The first is a monograph on human-animal relationships in prose fiction in English and will be published by Routledge next year. The second is  a collaborative project with Annie Potts (also at Canterbury) and Deidre Brown of Auckland University, provisionally entitled 'Kararehe: the Animal in Culture in Aotearoa New Zealand'. This project is funded by a grant from the Marsden Fund of the Royal Society of New Zealand, and involves an interdisciplinary study of human-animal relations in contemporary and recent New Zealand literature, visual arts and popular culture. For more details see Philip's webpage: http://www.engl.canterbury.ac.nz/people/armstrong.shtml
